LA LA LA I can't hear you............

Today I decided to go round to speak to the mountain.  I wanted to reason with it.  I want it to go easy on me.  Perhaps I am starting to lose my marbles.

Step 1: Clear a space outside the house so that I/we can bring stuff out to sort.

I started clearing.  Within 2 minutes the kids had disappeared - all totally bored.  I let them go.  I started picking up bits of stuff (from directly outside the back door) leaves, twigs, bits of plastic, old plant pots, my shoe from when I was aged about six. Then some bits of stuff which I fear may be small parts of an asbestos roof they once had.  The roof was replaced and these bits have been there years.  Just in case, I sealed them in a rubble sack.  I will ask my builder mate advice on this.

Then I stopped, looked inside the house through the window, sat on the grass and howled.

:(  Bad start Hev.  Will do better tomorrow.  I have friends who have offered to come round to help tomorrow.  I can't face it today.  I really cannot work out where to start.

I got in touch with a specialist clutter clearing service.  The lady was extremely helpful.  It appears they sort and tidy and are specialist is this sort of job.  HOWEVER they charge £30 to £40 an hour.  This job will take mileniums.  I am starting to fear the only way around this is the possibility of getting the television companies involved for the hoarder programes - there is NO WAY I can do this alone. I cannot go in the house without an industrial dust mask, nobody else can do it, it is quite urgent as he cannot come out of hospital unless it is done.  The TV programes will no doubt twist it to make him look like an idiot and his pride will be ruined but there may be no alternative.  I think they may do it for free.  I will broach the subject when I go to see him.

So far here is how I feel today...

La la la if I can't see it it ain't there...

Arthur suggested just putting the whole lot in storage to get it out of the house and then sorting at your leisure.

Mal. No.

Kirsty, if storage had a big enough space.... But seriously it will be me paying whether it's storage or skip, as it would also need transport to storage this is not practical.
